A bit more about Me

Lorenzo Rocci Aka Lawrence More, born and raised in Rome.

Since 2016 I'm London based.

My passion for music began around my eleventh birthday when I received as present

a panasonic cd player.Since then I start collecting different compilation and get interested also in old music tape and the various sounds.

At the age of 15 I had the chance to perform for private friends birthday party thanks to the beginning of the "Virtual Dj" era. Around the same time, 

my cousin ( 10 years older than me) that was a DJ already with his Pioneer CDJ 800, Technics SL-1200. It is thanks to him that I've started learning the art of Djing;

 

The 90's ( and the "horse" 90's style) have definitely influenced and fascinated me.

I grew up with them, I've seen the explosion of commercial house music style alongside with the internet boom.

But if I should pick which artist influenced my passion I'd say Tiesto. His videos where so full of energy and light and that time he was ranked no 1 and I was still discovering more about music.

A song that remained in my mind since the first moment ( and I don't know why! ) is "D.H.S. The house of God". One artist instead that influenced my style in playing and I always look up to for his incredible talented technique is Laidback Luke.

In the end I believe I've fallen in the middle as music genre when I play, surely it changed throughout the years as rightly should be so with the change of sounds. I began with commercial house, electro while learning how to move through genres from the newest to the 80's.

I am more kin of playing big room, deep, tech and afro house are the genres that more appeal me the most with some techno or trance track that can find space in some dj set according to the music selection I feel right for the crowd and the moment.

I like smooth transition and sometimes I like to challenge myself in mixing fast but keeping the beat going, moving smoothly between songs almost that the crowd can barely notice it. 

A skill that allowed me to qualify as winner twice in a row (2011-2012 in Rome) at the "Contest Dj Battle", an Italian competition held in Italy between 2010 - 2014.

I've been working on few releases back in the days with Edoardo Simoncini on a project "Italian Dandies" releasing few songs. I am looking forward to release new mashup and originals of my own.
